Does anyone the author/title of this book?
Does anyone the author/title of this book?
It's about a female Polish graduate student in New York; she meets a man who is studying cannibalism. They fall in love, but eventually he has to go back to his wife and child. He visits his wife once in California, but the polish woman follows him. She then poisons him with Tylenol pm and alcohol, cuts off his fingertips, then eats parts of him. She carries his head in a portable freezer, then flies back to Poland. If anyone can help me with this, I'd appreciate it greatly! Thanks.

VISA Help. Please Guide.?
VISA Help. Please Guide.?
Hi, I will be opting for a Student Visa for Poland soon. I have the acceptance letter and other details. But the difficulty is that I am not able to find any direct fllights from my country to Warsaw. So first I'll be going to Moscow and then To Warsaw. What should be the procedure? Do I have to get the In-Transit VISA for Russia first or do I have to have the Student Visa for Poland first? Thanks. Please dont answer like: Contact the embassy. I've tried that before but those guys do not pick up the phone. Thank you.

Any travel agent can give you details on visa needs. You probably will not need a visa to pass through the airport in Moscow as long as you do not leave the international area
2 :
I have a problem with your question. You ask it in Y!A United States but simultaneously state that there are no direct flights from "your country" to Warsaw. Lot Polish Air flies directly from John F Kennedy Intl to Frederic Chopin. Obviously you are not an American although you ask in Y!A U.S. Please name your country in order to get a sensible answer!..

I'm a teacher working in poland. a nepalese student who holds a u.s passport asked me what " applicant not the same as class entry" means. this is a section at the bottom of the photo i.d page. any ideas ? thanks

You might be confused. If this Nepali student has a US visa, the annotation means that there is a similar name and date of birth in the consular lookout database, but the consular officer determined that the visa holder is not the same person. There can be no such entry on a US passport.

overall girl problems.. help me I'm a loser?
overall girl problems.. help me I'm a loser?
I'm a 17 year old junior I go to an all guys school. 1.) i never had a girlfriend though I have/had a lot of girl friends 2.) I never kissed a girl. I dunno the moment never came and if it did, I missed it. 3.) I don't freeze up around girls but I have a tendency to be awkward or say a wrong thing. a lot of the times I don't have anything to say even though I want to. 4.) most my guy friends all have done stuff with girls and I havent and I feel like a loser because I can't even join in on the conversation. 5.) at mixers and clubs I don't dance. the girls are slutty and that's usually an automatic cue to grind with em but I always get a fear of rejection. 6.)I went out with this girl last night. we were in my house alone and we didnt do anything. I I like this girl and she might have an interest in me. problem is, she's an exchange student from Poland. fuck me right? last night wasn't a flop but it wasn't the best night. the first night we hung out was awesome. how do I recover thanks oh yeah the polish girl leaves around June or July at the end of the school year. there's a chance I will never see her again. First of all you're 17 and I'm pretty sure all of your friends aren't being 100 percent honest about what they have done with girls. Second u don't have to rush to be so physical with a woman. Spare yourself of the headache women bring while you are still young. Third just the fact that the young lady came over your house is an indication that she feels somewhat comfortable around you and may want to continue a friendship

How can I get to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky from Cleveland Hopkins Airport?
How can I get to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky from Cleveland Hopkins Airport?
Hi :) I'm a student from Poland. I signed up for work & travel program and I'm going to work in Cedar Point this summer. But there's one problem. It will be my first time in the USA and I have no idea how to get to Sandusky from Cleveland Airport. I've read about greyhound buses and amtrak but I don't know how to get to their stations. Could someone explain me what should I do step by step after getting off a plane ? And one more thing. Could you recommend me a cheap hotel near the airport. I have to spend one night in Cleveland because I'll arrive very late ;) I would be very grateful ;) Thank you in advance :)

You don't.
2 :
When you fly into Cleveland Hopkins, you will need to get to the Greyhound station and take a bus to Sandusky. When you get to Sandusky, you will need to get a taxi to get to Cedar Point (unless you want to walk quite a distance along a busy route, I would get a taxi). As for hotels, I would stick to the chain hotels (Hampton Inn, Courtyard, Hilton Garden Inn, Red Roof, La Quinta, etc.).
3 :
The LaQuinta Inn Airport on West 150th is reasonably priced and of good quality. Most airport inns will pick you up and return you to the airport for free. You should tip the driver a couple dollars. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g50207-d101731-Reviews-La_Quinta_Inn_Cleveland_Airport-Cleveland_Ohio.html The LaQuinta has the added advantage of being across the street from a Cleveland RTA rail rapid transit station. If you got up early the next morning, you could buy an RTA day pass for $5 and explore downtown before returning to the LaQuinta (assuming the hotel will hold your bags for you). Then you could take the hotel's shuttle back to the airport. (If the West Side Market is open, take the rapid to the West 25th St. station and go across the street for breakfast or lunch either at a food stall in the cafe or at the West Side Market Cafe; Maha's falafel in the market is a favorite of many.) You should call Cedar Point's personnel department and ask what shuttles they recommend. There are shuttle services between the airport and Cedar Point which would be cheaper and more convenient than using Greyhound. Greyhound doesn't go directly to Cedar Point, so you would have to take a cab from Sandusky to Cedar Point, unless you can make other arrangements. http://clevelandtocedarpoint.com/ http://cabbiebill.com/CedarPointShuttle.aspx BOL!

Oh my gosh. Alert the media, I think I've found I guy with a semblence of a conscience! Look, you're only seventeen. It's not a bad thing to never have had or done any of that. Don't feel like a loser. Those guys probably won't be able to appreciate relationships as much as you will because they've already been s l u t t y. And not wanting to grind some promiscuous girl is not a bad thing either, it's integrity.

First of all the worst thing you can do is call yourself a 'girl challenged loser'. Girls love confidence! That's not exactly confident. In fact it's hurting your self esteem. How can you expect girls to like you and love you if you don't even love yourself? You need to do things that put yourself out of your comfort zone. That's the only way you're going to change. Dance with girls at mixers and clubs, who cares if they're sluts. It's like you're going to date them. Just have a good time. Talk to them. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable! About the girl from Poland : ask her out again. Take her to do something that you really enjoy doing. Girls really like that. Compliment her, make her laugh. Be yourself. Don't worry too much about the future, just think more about the now. You never know what tomorrow will bring. -Good luck & hope this helps!

Man, you have great opportunity! She is alone, abroad, encircled with (i guess) Americans, who doesn't have a good opinion in Poland... give her what other guys can't give! Which means: - Be a gentleman: open the door for her, help her with coat, walk her home or at least make sure she reached home safe and sound. - Care for her: offer her your jacket if you think it's cold. My ex bf used to bring me a hot donut in winter, when it was cold and i was hungry after finishing my classes in late afternoon. That was great! We are laso very patriotic and we like our traditions. 6th December is a St. Nicholas day when people give eachother small gifts. You can impress her with sth nice and small and even more with your knowledge and respect towards polish tradition. Honestly, I think that we feel a bit like 'poor relatives', comparing to Western countries. Being interested in Poland and stressing that we are important and have great achievements would make her feel better. Find out when is her b-day. - Don't push. There's nothing worse than a guy that is desperate on getting laid. You'll notice the moment when she'll want to have closer physical contact. That can be your advantage on yoiur friends. - Offer her some sort of activities that you both like, and that can be an excuse to see eachother regularly: movie club, dance course, volunteering once a week...(the last one will also mean that you are more 'deep' than the others...)

Many thanks Reeble! :) How can I now rate your answers as best?? I'm new to yahoo answers and don't know how I can do this... Anyway, he's coffe hunter that's why I wanted to make some coffee for myself ;)

You could say: You did really well in this interview. So well that I'm about to make myself some coffee, and I hardly ever drink it!

You really did great with this video. I don't understand what do you try to say in the other sentence, I believe it says something like: "Well, I'm about to prepare a coffee for myself, me who hardly even drinks it!" correctly written, but please tell me what does the sentence you wrote means because I might be changing the sense. OH, reeading Reeble's answer now I got it, say it as she answered you, she's correct!
3 :
You might want to say, "I think you did quite well on your television interview." I wish you the best of luck in your studies!!!

I am a 21 year old student from Poland and I used to live in Walbrzych with my parents until I moved 70 miles away from my home to Opole, where I am living now. (I made it in the present tense) I visit my parents twice a month or more. (parents is easier to say than mom and dad, and often or even more often seems kind of repetitive) I have a brother who is three years older than me. (which is refers to an object, but your brother is a person) He just finished officer school and unfortunately we rarely see each other. (Nothing wrong with this) I don't have a lot of free time but when I find some I like to spend it in such a way that I feel relaxed. I enjoy both singing and playing guitar. (It sounds better as two sentences than one, and there are some miscellaneous errors in grammar) (from here on out I'm just giving suggestions as to how to word it better) I also love to learn new things. On summer vacation a few years ago I worked at summer camp in the kitchen. I started this job a few weeks after other employees so I was new there. I acclimatised very quickly and after a few days I knew everything about this job. In conclusion, I think I am a communicative, outgoing and flexible person who does not give up easily. How can i kiss my boyfriend?
How can i kiss my boyfriend?
ok..so my first kiss was with my boyfriend and i wasnt expecting such a kiss. he basically attacked me with his tounge and i didnt really like it. that was 3 weeks ago!! i havent kissed him since then. so i want to kiss him now but he says he doesnt like to kiss when theres alot of people. but the kind of kissing he is talking about is lip locking. but i dont want to do that! it turned me off a little last time. so if he tries to kiss me, hes going to give me tounge. hes a foreign exchange student from poland so i think the only kissing he knows is lip locking hahaha. how do i tell him not to?

Just come out straight with it and explain :)
2 :
pull away when he starts doing that..
3 :
just pucker ur lips up so he can't put it in
4 :
be like watch and take hold of his cheeks lightly and kiss him on his lips but not all porn starness. thats what i had to do to my boyfriend well ex sorta but yea and it worked.
5 :
U can try giving him smooches. Tell him not to be that rough on you. Or just make facial expressions just to let him understand.
6 :
just kiss him on the cheek or lips for like a short second. when no 1 is lookin. he will get this pic like say u have a date. and its the end of it. just kiss him shortly on the lips and then on his cheek. he mite learn the difference
7 :
Just tell him you are not ready for tonuges yet. Tongues are very lusty and not really for new relationships. Just put lips together gently for now, its much nicer, you both will get a thrill from it.
8 :
I suppose if you suprise him with a few of your own style of kissing he might get the idea of what you enjoy. If not, i guess you'll just have to be blunt about it.
9 :
just tell him to go back to poland
10 :
Just tell him that it makes you uncomfortable lol. i made out with a girl one time that pretty much just opened her mouth and stuck her tongue straight out lol. The next time we made out i started it out slow and turned it into the perfect kiss.. so go slow and if that doesnt work then maybe yall can meet somewhere in the middle
11 :
So, just come out and tell him straight that his kissing skills sucks (and NOT in a good way), and work on making some changes.
12 :
Oh. Well, teach him! :) Tell him that you like "closed mouth" kisses and see what he does.
13 :
First sit him down and tell him what he did and how it made you feel. Then let him explain his side. After that tell him what you wish to do and ask him to do the same then find a compromise and see how it works out.
14 :
just tell him you dont want that just little pecks http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090114145834AAK9ykD

Tell him to tone it down a bit. Being honest is the best thing to do. and be upfront about it, but polite.
16 :
Teach him! That happened to me before too. As soon as it happened, I pulled away and I told him "No no. Follow my lead alright?" in a very nice way. He was okay with it and he learned how to kiss the right way. Don't be scared to tell him. He will be okay with it because even after he screwed up, you were nice enough to tell him how you like it. good luck!
17 :
either teach him how you want him to use his tongue while making out.....or just tell him the whole tongue thing isn't working for you. he'll never know if you don't tell him.
18 :
So he was a little over eager. Give him another chance, but first tell him what your expecting from the kiss tell him he needs to be more vanilla, but no less passionate with hiss lips & make sure he uses something to freshen his breathe.

ok..so my first kiss was with my boyfriend and i wasnt expecting such a kiss. he basically attacked me with his tounge and i didnt really like it. that was 3 weeks ago!! i havent kissed him since then. so i want to kiss him now but he says he doesnt like to kiss when theres alot of people. but the kind of kissing he is talking about is lip locking. but i dont want to do that! it turned me off a little last time. so if he tries to kiss me, hes going to give me tounge. hes a foreign exchange student from poland so i think the only kissing he knows is lip locking hahaha. how do i tell him not to?

OK serious question cause I am kinda torn apart?
OK serious question cause I am kinda torn apart?
I am a law student from Poland and in first semester I do not have any classes ( yeah it's weird). Anyway I got a work permit from canadian embassy in Poland and now I'm not sure what to do - stay or go. I do have a job interview on wednesday in Toronto but its not a sure thing. Partly I'd love to go to Canada, new surrounding, new people, besides I like to travel. I feel like I would eventually find some job there. But from the other side I am a bit scared of costs of living there or getting a room, or not finding a job. That's why I am hesitating. If you have any advice please help, would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance I am talking of 3-4 months stay in Canada

Definitely try to secure a job first. Ask your friends, family, pull strings, ask for favours--but try to get a hook-up before you fly overseas. If you cant, and just plan on winging it, then why not. There are a lot of job opportunities here, Canada wasn't hit by the recession nearly as hard as other parts of the world. So odds are, yeah, you'd eventually get a job. If you want to play it safe, just make sure you have some money saved up first. Cost of living is exaggerated in Toronto, but still high. I recommend looking at Craigslist first to get a feel of what the prices are, and frequently referencing Google maps to make sure you're in the right area, or close to your job. Otherwise, Toronto is fabulous, and Im sure you'll love it, even if you do just end up visiting. While you're here, you could also visit Niagara Falls, Ottawa, even Montreal or Quebec City if you felt like it. Hope it works out :)

I've been to Poland to take my daughter to her 1st day at school, it was excelent why does the UK allow?
Anything other than integration? Had the school flag with the Polish eagle 'a' top, all the kids had to make an oath to be good students etc etc.. The flag a school moto on one side & the Polish flag on the other, I've no issue with that as my daughter is Polish citizen. Why doesn't the 'UK' bring in a similar thing? - English, Scots or Welsh flag & a commitment to integration? UK terms 1st day at Primeray school - she is nearly 7. Rachel, I'm not American but I can see the Balkanisation of the UK - it is not multiculturislism! Or a European thing other than the UK!

Because we simply don't need it. We know how to behave we don't need to make a promise about it. I mean how many people keep their promises? eh not many. Plus, and im not trying to offend anyone but doing that sort of thing is an American type thing. British people are not American therefore why should we follow the same procedures?

Should I tell her I love her?
Should I tell her I love her?
I've been with my girlfriend twice. She is a foreign exchange student from poland. The first time we were dating, we were dating for about 2 1/2 months. I told her I loved her too early and she broke up with me. She said that she didn't want to get in a serious relationship before she went back to poland. Anyway a month went by and I got the attraction going again and we've now been dating ever since. We just hit 5 months a couple weeks ago, 3 if you don't count the first two months. We've gotten really really close since then, and she is leaving in 7 days. I don't think I really loved her before, but now I know for a fact I do. I love her deeply and I don't want to see her go. I'm afraid to tell her how I feel because I don't want to push her away again. Even though she's leaving, I'm going to Poland for a couple weeks this summer, so I'm afraid to drop the L bomb. How do I know if I should or if she's ready? brittany, you're fuckin stupid... your answer is irrelavant she always talks about how much she's going to miss me, last night she told me she had a dream that I was the one leaving and not her.

Well look 7days is too less to know anything. You should have started preparing her mentally atleast 2-3 weeks back. However, what you can do is tell her. I mean you'll atleast try. If she says no then however, she's gonna go. Try your best to get a yes. Best of Luck mate.
2 :
Why don't you ask her if she is looking for a serious relationship first...
3 :
ask her to see wat she feels about the relationship now.she probably dont want to say it ethier because there is someone else but ask her how do she feel and y do she keeps traveling back and fourth

sure go for it answer me plz http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100523180920AAnU69M

Don't drop the L bomb again but ask her you know about taking your dating to another level.....like a relationship and see how she responds just ask her but don't make it seem like you need an answer right then and there keep it simple. You can't force someone to like you as much as you like them if meant to be then its meant to be if not even though it may be hard you may have to just move on if she doesn't feel the same way by now.
6 :
Well if you love her, then i say let her know. 5 months is long enough for someone to fall in love and seriously if she didn't love you back..they why is she hanging around? Oh and tell her this: kocham cie [ko-hum-cher]. Which is 'i love you' in polish :)
7 :
you know that song by John Mayor? "Say What you Need to Say" "it is better to say too much than to never have said what you needed to say." that is pretty much my motto. answer mine please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100523225538AAIykCw
8 :
If i were you i would save it. If you are going to Poland to see her in the summer you should hold off because if it does push her away then your summer plans may be ruined. I would say save it for the trip over there, and near the end, because by going over there she will have the satisfaction of knowing you would travel at length to be with her, as in a way to prove your love.
9 :
You scared her the first time, and maybe you'll scare her again if you say it again. However you say you've gotten to be really close with her, so maybe she'll accept it this time and maybe she feels it back. Is she always talking about leaving or is she talking about how much she'll miss you? If it's the latter, you can probably assume she has feelings for you. If it's the first, maybe you shouldn't say anything more than "I'll miss you" because you just never know. Since you'll be going to Poland anyway over the summer, I think that you should wait. You've only been dating 5 months, 3 months, whatever it is. I would want you to wait and let the love either grow or diminish before you speak anything...
10 :
I think some people get a little scared with the whole usage of the word "love". Some people have heard it before and gotten hurt so that makes them apprehensive, or they associate it with straight away leading to things like marriage etc. Others are comfortable with it and think along the lines of: what is wrong with vocalising it if it is what I feel? So you have to decide what you're comfortable with, what you think she is comfortable with, and what the consequences of either saying it or not, could be. I think SHOWING love is very important and if you are doing that, sometimes that can be enough for a person to know how that person feels, without them having said it. If you feel that she might pull away again, think about how you would feel with just showing it and not saying it yet. If you think you can deal with this then maybe hold off a bit. But if you feel you are just bursting and need to tell her, just say it. She can either say she feels the same or get scared, or say nothing. Who knows what the outcome will be, but if you feel that it is something you really want to say, just do it and don't regret...if she isn't the one that loves you back or can at least handle the fact that you love her, then another girl in the future will... At the same time if you feel that you can be with her without having said it, then just go with the flow and enjoy the relationship without putting the words to it. good luck :o)

serious question , go or not to go?
serious question , go or not to go?
I am a law student from Poland and in first semester I do not have any classes ( yeah it's weird). Anyway I got a work permit from canadian embassy in Poland and now I'm not sure what to do - stay or go. I do have a job interview on wednesday in Toronto but its not a sure thing. Partly I'd love to go to Canada, new surrounding, new people, besides I like to travel. I feel like I would eventually find some job there. But from the other side I am a bit scared of costs of living there or getting a room, or not finding a job. That's why I am hesitating. If you have any advice please help, would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance

Just do it! Living overseas is one of the most rewarding and excellent experiences ever! I moved to Berlin (from Australia) for about a year, and even though I had no job for quite a while, didn't really know how to get an apartment or do anything, I worked it out and feel like the challenge really really was worth it. Also - Canadian people are really nice, so I'm sure you'll meet lots of new friends and have a great time. Go for it!!!

where find volunteers in Worcester MA.?
where find volunteers in Worcester MA.?
Who would help a disabled 36 year old student from Poland, who comes as an exchange student to finish his Masters Degree. Where can I find in Worcester institutions helping the disabled?

Try your local United Way & Health and Human Services....They can help and direct you to help you are in need of......Good Luck !
2 :
Check with your college. They should have a disability services office and a foreign exchange student office - both which should help.
3 :
See if there is an Independent Living Center in Worcester, MA. That may be your best chance. Second choice may to try the United Way if there is one in the area. It is hard to find people who will do that sort of work for $8 an hour (and do a good job, along with being safe for you), let alone one who will do it for free. Especially if you need someone on a regular basis. You can also see if Poland has an agreement with the United States Social Security Administration as far as transferring any benefits you get in Poland to the United States system. I doubt it will help, but it is worth a shot. Most programs require you to be eligible for the State's Medicaid program, and those services would be covered under the "Medicaid Waiver Program", but since you are not a citizen, odds are you would not qualify for MassCare which I believe is the MA State Medicaid program. Hope this helps, there are no easy answers, but private organizations such as an Independent Living Center or the United Way MAY be your best shot, but even there I do not expect you to have too much luck. But "nothing ventured, nothing gained". Take Care, Robbie

How do I know if my girlfriend loves me?
How do I know if my girlfriend loves me?
My girlfriend is a foreign exchange student from poland. We started dating 6 months ago, and after almost 3 months I dropped the L bomb on her. She broke up with me and said she didn't want to get in a serious relationship because she has to go back to poland. We started dating again a month after she broke up with me because the attraction was going again. Since then, we are a lot more close than the first time we dated. It has now been 3 and 1/2 months the second time around, and now I know for a fact I've fallen in love. She's leaving to go back to poland in one week. I'm afraid to tell her I love her again, because of what happened the first time. The problem is, it is different this time. I think she loves me back, but I'm not sure. Here are some examples of why I think this: A couple months ago, we were making out heavily, she stops and says, "I need you. You're my best friend" Things have progressed since then. A couple weeks go by and we're talking about our feelings. She sends me this text "I need you because you're the one person i can tell anything. And i need you because even though our homes are so far away we are really close. I mean that I think our priorities are really similar. I need you because when im with you i forget about everything what makes my heart go faster, because you are holding me close and let me not think about anything. I need you to help me stand up, after i've fallen down. I need you because you're always saying that everything will be good, and you're always on my side, ready to defend me." We continue to get closer and closer, and last night she told me that she had a dream. That I was the main character in her dream, and that instead of her leaving, I was the one going away. Does she love me? I don't get it. How do you know if a girl loves you back, and when you should tell her you love her? I don't want to regret not telling her before she leaves. I'm going to poland this summer, invited by her parents. I don't want to say it now, and ruin my vacation, but I don't know. Help me. i just graduated im 18 in 6 days

Don't worry about labels. You've got a good thing going, junior. Keep your mouth shut. She KNOWS how you feel.
2 :
You need to just talk to her. We can't tell you anything you don't already know.
3 :
she does loves you answer my question? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100524125353AAd7f3c&r=w
4 :
She knows how you feel. Let the ball be in her hands for now. If she does not tell you by the time she leaves, you can always do something super romantic when you know it will be the last time you see each other before she leaves, and tell her everything then. It's not worth pushing her away to tell her again.
5 :
Tell her in some amazingly romantic way, like... if you choose not to tell her before she leaves, (which I think maybe you should) when you go visit you should leave her a letter she'll find after you leave that tells her your feelings for her. Good luck, this is soo cute =D
6 :
Sounds like she's really into you. Honestly, I can see your predicament, but think about what will be worse: calmly, gently telling her how you feel before she leaves, but finding out she doesn't feel the same way? Or not telling her and spending the rest of your life wondering what she would have said? If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and tell her. It's a huge risk, but that's what love is about man. It's like I said in another Answer: it's like a casino. You gotta risk a lot to win a lot. I wish you the best. Let us know how things go.
7 :
You don't say how old you are, but I'm assuming you're in High school since she's an exchange student. Let me tell you something I learned (the hard way) in high school: Love and Need are two different things. You may love her, but I don't sense its the same for her. Sorry to be so blunt but in my experience if you question someone's love its usually not a good sign.
8 :
i think she does love you but i dont think you should tell her. i find it scary when a guy loves me more than i love him because i feel like i will hurt him. but you know her and i dont soo follow your heart. good luck.

8 :
i think she does love you but i dont think you should tell her. i find it scary when a guy loves me more than i love him because i feel like i will hurt him. but you know her and i dont soo follow your heart. good luck.

Have I Lost My Chance?
Have I Lost My Chance?
Okay, so I'm a Junior in High School, and I'm pretty shy. This foreign exchange student from Poland, who I have a crush on, happens to be in my History class that started last Tuesday. She sat right in front of me and I think she was interested in me at first. We talked the first day pretty easy, but ever since then, it's been hard for me to strike a conversation. It's been a week now, is it too late for me to start talking to her, or have I lost yet another chance due to shyness?

no its never too late! good luck! :)
2 :
nope
3 :
just ask her out and if she turns you down you can move on and stop wasting time! i hate it when guys are shy and do nothing... a big turn on is a confident guy that goes for what he wants!
4 :
dude, you can totaalllly talk to her aqain! :]
5 :
Its never too late. Dont give up, keep trying to win her heart. Goodluck!!!
6 :
its never too late...just go for it! once you get over the initial shyness and start chatting it'l be so much easier after that and soon you'll be chattign to her like she's one of your close friends. Good luck :)
7 :
nice guys finish last. But it's never to late. you gotta giver her something so she knows your into her dude.
8 :
Nahh, dude. Talk to her. Girls ALWAYS want you to talk to them first. Trust Me :)
9 :
a week is not very long at all. You still have a chance.
10 :
umm no go ahead and talk to her wht do you have to loose?
11 :
ofcourse its not too late.
12 :
nahhh I'm a girl who is 16 A week is nothing, if she really actually likes you. Talk to her the next day you see her. Just ask if she has an extra pencil you could borrow or ask for a sheet of paper or something. oh, and don't be like "Hey, can i have a pencil" Say her name! Then she'll be be like to herself in her head "Omg he said my name heheheh llalalalla" Oh and then when you have to give her pencil back at the END of class, just start walking out with her then walk her to her next class or to her locker. and be like talk to you later/see ya or whatever Okay, don't worry about it. GOOD LUCK!
13 :
its DEFINATELY not too late. you should try talking to her about an assignment, or something stupid like , can i borrow a pencil. if any of your friends talk to her , try talking to you friends while their around her, then strike a conversation with her. perfectttt baaaabby ;)
14 :
It is definitely not to late. ask her how her classes or going. or just throughout the class make comments about the stuff your learning or if something funny happened.and dont let your shyness get in the way. i am a pretty quiet person but just have confidence. If you don't have anything to say i wouldn't force it, but even shy people have something to say every once in a while.
15 :
It's never too late. She's an exchange student, talk to her about Poland, how she likes it here, it will grow better from there. Good luck.
16 :
No, of course not! But you have to talk to her or she could feel that your not very interested. Goodluck sweetie!
17 :
nahh just talk to her again!!!!:)
18 :
No its not. Shyness can be an attractive characteristic to many girls. However keep in mind that they enjoy someone with a good humor and that provokes some type of communication. Girls enjoy talking about themselves so ask her about Poland and if she likes it here and during that process you can simply ask well what do you do onthe weekends and go from there. you seem like a good guy so it shouldnt be hard to get more comfortable with her. Good luck
19 :
i think you still have a chance you just have to approach her soon. you should be like do you wanna go out to do...(something american that they dont do) and then she'll be like what is that and then you can say you dont know what it is? oh its really cool or fun or whatever you have to try it. or you can jusr ask her out to do somehting simple.dont be shy because im pretty sure that if she was interested in you before you have a chance. i know its hard not to be shy when your a shy person but you should have a little more confidence since you say you think she was interested in you before. hope it all works out:)
20 :
Oooo well put yourself in this girls position, ok well i will. She got on well with you the first day but you haven't spoken to her since, well she might think that you didnt like her. Sooo most girls expect guys to be forward and that they have to do all the chasing, im a girl and i suffer from shyness and i have let so many chances slip through my fingers lukily most guys take the lead but you are a guy which is hard for you. Purposly walk past this girl or sit by her and smile and say hello, pretend you dont know the answers and ask her. Dont leave it too long because she might think you dont like her. When you do eventually make conversation ask her if she has an email or soemthing and you can chat on there. Also she is a foreign exchange student she is going to be feeling pretty alienated so make her feel welcome and just talk about any random thing that comes into your head! Good luck!
21 :
no, its never too late. maybe u can ask 2 meet each other some time. or walk her 2 her next class. deer r a ton of ways to get her attention, but overcome ur shyness.
22 :
Let me give you a brief language lesson... The word "Gentleman" is really a combination of two words: GENTLE and MAN. Gentle can be defined as "affable, agreeable, benign, meek, trained... and nice." Man can be defined as "boy, chap, dude, or... guy." GENTLE MAN = NICE GUY. The concept that the two are any different at all just doesn't work. Saying you're a "gentleman" who doesn't know how to flirt, is the same as saying "I'm a man who likes to be nice to women and get nothing in return." Now, if that's what you want, by all means, consider yourself a "gentleman." You'll get a lot of nice smiles, and "thank yous" from the women... Right before they go home with another guy who ISN'T YOU. But here's where I think you're getting confused... You don't NEED to be a jerk to easily attract women. It is possible to be NICE to women and have them be attracted to you. But you can't simply be a sexually-neutered "nice guy" or "gentle man." You NEED to have an aspect of male sexuality to your personality (i.e. flirting and teasing).
23 :
No. Ask her a question about your work, homework, classwork, anything. If you text, ask her for her # If your a guy, don't be shy!! Guys shouldn't be shy. Get over it,be a guy, which is making a fool of themselves.
24 :
Not at all, she must be the shy one, if she is from polland... but now you must move! why dont you talk to her more... how did you started you first conversation? Try again in the same way... Become her dearest friend... Find out things that she like and talk about them in front of her... try to to make her talk more than you d.. be a good listener... Now could you help me: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjDpF1CFRMXuR01Mp1ilLdzsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100126150933AAxBpbS
25 :
You have already answered your own question. Girls love being flattered. If you walk up to her before class one day, and say, "Hey, I have missed not speaking to you after our first day in class. Sorry for acting so shy, would you like to get together (wherever you youth hang these days), I would love to hear more about you" Do that with confidence and suck up your shyness for the 15 seconds it will take to say that, and even if she acts like she's brushing you off (which I expect she won't based on your previous conversation with her) you will absolutely make an impression.
26 :
Never to late but I don't think it's due to your shyness though to me this always happens....you finally talk to the one you like and then after that it's as though that's the only thing you wanted and that's it. But all you have to do is try to start another conversation, put your shyness aside because sometimes when your shyness takes over you you lose your oppurtunity. It's not to late...if you really like her that much you would act like you have the highest self esteem and confidence.
27 :
Go (conversationally) for all the marbles--ask her to see a movie with you or go grab dinner somewhere that's not fancy but isn't McDonald's, either. She might like a bold question and it gives her a chance to give you thumbs up or not on whether or not you guys have a future. If she says "no", then you definitely know where you stand. If she says yes then don your best cologne and take her out and have some fun. Girls your age are much more mature than guys are so surprise her, be bold and show how much you care about her. And you do, 'cause you wouldn't have posted to this forum if you didn't like her.

Why Poland? Learning polish is going to be VERY hard
2 :
Hey, I think there are quite many foreign (including Indian) students. I live in a not that big city but we've got approximately 100 000 students and I see some foreigners from time to time (also I have seen a few Indian, I think, doctors). Anyway, if you are really going to study in Poland, I think you should go to a big city, such as Warsaw or Cracow (I think those two are pretty well-known).
3 :
There's not so many Indian students, but rather a lot of foreigners studying in big cities (Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Lodz, Gdansk, Wroclaw), especially when it comes to medicine and dentists. I've been studying at Warsaw University and I've seen some Indian people. For Indian restaurants: you'll find them only in bigger cities like Warsaw or Krakow, but they are rather expensive... You can always buy a frozen tikka massala or make it yourself. In bigger stores you'll find everything you need.
4 :
You're more than welcome in Poland! it's a great country! you won't regret!!
5 :
Ok,baby I lived and studied in Poland didn't see even one Indian person out there. So wish you good luck. Indian retsaurants in Poland, well yeah they say in big cities,LMAO,i suggest you take a recipe for you favorite chicken. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but this is the most true answer you got. Poland is very xenopfhobic.
6 :
Yes there are indian students in Poland. I am in Poznan Univeristy of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland and there are indians and chinese people here. You should be fine if you live on residence. Most of the brown people or chinese are in med school for doctors or dentistry. But im not promising ppl wont stare at you...cuz they will.

I want to study in USA, UK or Canada!!??
I am a first year student in the medical university of Wroclaw, Poland and I want to continue to study medicine next year in one of these countries (USA, UK or Canada). Does anyone know any college where I can apply and be certain that I will be accepted? Any kind of information will be appreciated.

You should study in B.C Canada. Search university for medicine in canada B,C. It will be good for your future and you will be able to get benefits of Canadian Govt well . After doing well from Canada You will be fine for any country for future.
2 :
First..... You have to apply and be accepted by a University in Canada, then you have to apply to the Government of Canada for a International student visa. That will take about 6 months to be approved. Read this Immigration information website from the University of Toronto . It is the largest in Canada. Go here : http://www.utoronto.ca/internationalstudent/ You will NOT be eligible for any student loans from the Government of Canada.. You will have to pay all your own costs to attend any University in Canada. Here is a link to read about how to apply for a Student Visa, from the Government of Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/index.asp Good Luck Jim B. Toronto.

If you have the money any private university in the USA will accept you. You have to have about $35,000 for each school year. Contact the foreign student office at some schools that interest you. The University of Pittsburgh and the University of Southern California are great medical schools to consider. In Canada, the University of British Columbia is good and may be a little cheaper. If you do not have the money, they don't want to know you.
2 :
US medical schools do not generally accept transfer students from foreign med schools. You will need top scores on the TOEFL and MedCAT exams, top grades from a highly respected med school that offers a program comparable to the US program, and of course, you must have been tops in your undergrad institution. Above all, you will need a great deal of money. $35,000 a year will cover tuition at most med schools, but you also have to cover all of your living expenses, get a car, etc. Med schools require doing rotations at various hospitals. The hours are erratic, your schedule is tight, and you absolutely must have a car to get around. Public transportation, where available, cannot be relied on, especially at odd hours of the night! You should have at least $250,000 to cover all of your school expenses, living expenses, etc. Without that, it is irrelevant whether you can get accepted into a med school.

Green Card by Marriage?
Green Card by Marriage?
Hi! I'm a future undergraduate student from poland. My question is: Is it hard to find someone to marry with in due to get a Green Card - I need it in due to study in US and being able of staying there in the future, as a one of many proud Americans.
Immigration - 4 Answers

1 :
By "find someone", you mean a fixed marriage? You do know that's illegal, right? Get a student visa to begin with, do it the right way.
2 :
You are committing a felony by suggesting immigration fraud ... time to keep quiet
3 :
Marriage fraud is illegal. Marrying someone just to gain a green card is fraud. Punishable by a $250,000 fine and up to 5 years in prison. If you commit marriage fraud, you will be deported and never be allowed to return.
4 :
Marrying someone to get a green card is marriage fraud. It gets you deported and permanently barred from reentry. Also, it is an express condition of obtaining a student visa that you will return to your own country immediately upon completion or termination of studies. So if you intend to remain permanently in the US, and get a temporary visa to get in, you are committing visa fraud, a felony. If you come to the US as a student, you need to return home.

Is doing a PhD the right idea?
Is doing a PhD the right idea?
Is doing a PhD the right idea?!? I am starting my PhD in physiology (molecular biology) at a highly ranked university. Students in my lab start telling me that doing a PhD is not a good idea because you don't get a job with high degrees other than being a professor at a university. And they are actually ending their PhDs... Is it true that pharmaceutical companies don't hire PhD holders? That they go for Technicians and PostDocs and award winning researchers/students?? Will I be over-qualified once I start looking for most available jobs? What salary can I expect with being a PhD (starting salary and highest one?) in Canada or the USA. How about in Poland? I'm 27 and my PhD is supposed to last 6 years. I'm just wondering if someone can give me advice on continuing my studies. Is it worth it if I want to work as a researcher and have a decent salary compared to bachelors or technicians?? Thanks!

Your fellow students are mostly right. You may get very lucky: do a great research for 6 years as a PhD student, then do a great research for 2-3 years as a post-doc, then get hired by a pharma/biotech company with $60-80K/year salary. Or may not get so lucky and wonder what to do on 6th year of your post-doc. A more practical approach may be to go for a masters degree in an applied area like toxicology, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutics, anything that deals more with drug development rather than with early drug discovery. Good luck
2 :
"Should I get a PhD?" should not be the first question for you ask when deciding whether it's relevant to your career. You should first decide your career goal and then research the job market and career paths in the area in which you want to work. Look at sample job postings for companies who hire those who do the kind of work that interests you. I recommend contacting professional organizations and professionals in the field for "informational interviews". Also, talk with your professors. Maybe you can help them arrange an "informational career day" for your specific field. You will learn about entry jobs and long term career paths, and then you can determine whether a Ph.D is needed or not. Six years of study is a long time to invest in a Ph.D. to work in a field in which you determine it's not needed. You should do your own research and not invest tons of time, effort, and money based on the hearsay of your friends about career requirements. On the other hand, there is an advantage to pursuing a PhD early in your life. If you decide to pursue it later in your life, it may be more difficult because then you might have a job and a family, and tuition may be higher than it is today. With a Ph.D, you are also more flexible within your field to grab emerging opportunities that do require it, or to transition into other careers if you decide to change careers later in life. When you submit a resume, all that you have to document are the experiences and credentials that are relevant to that job. If you have a Ph.D and all they require is a Master's degree, then just put that down. I'm sure that your university has a career center. You might contact them to guide you through a career exploration process. I hope this helps!

Marriage to an alien who will be in US on a J-1 visa?
So i am from the US, my fiance from poland, he will be in the US on a student work visa J-1 how and where to we get a marriage license and what all info do we need to get it?

Marriage license laws depend on the state. To get the license, you will usually have to go to the county clerk's office. Search for your county's website, and it should have all the requirements online. That your fiance is an alien makes no difference. After you are married however, you can apply along with him for an expedited permanent residence (green card). Information on that is at the site below.

What would i get a polish girl for her name day?
What would i get a polish girl for her name day?
It is my gf's name day, she's a foreign exchange student here in america. she's from poland, and she's 17. She doesn't have a traditional catholic saint name. she's named after her great-grandma who died in WWII any ideas? (December 12 is the day)

I'm confused here. If she doesn't have a "Catholic saint name," how does she have a name day? A name day is the feast day of the saint you are named for. It may or may not be the same day as your birthday. Let's say your name is Valentine. February 14th, St. Valentine's Day, is your name day. If your name is Patrick or Patricia, your name day is March 17, St. Patrick's Day. My name, Gary, doesn't happen to be a saint's name, so I don't have a name day (although my birthday is the celebration of the Holy Cross on the Catholic calendar). So how or why is December 12 your friend's "name day"? Is that perhaps the day her great-grandmother was born or died? Or does she just mean December 12 is her birthday?
2 :
Name day or imieniny is very important in Poland. Definitely get her nice flowers, that is a must. Dependent on what she likes, you know her the best, get her something that you know she would like, like perfume, I don't know what she likes. The present is not much different what you would give her for birthday. All the dates in calendar have assigned names which are celebrated on that particular day. On December 12 the names are Dagmara and Aleksandra, so I guess one of these is your girl's name.
3 :
I agree that it's a little confusing that she would have a name day without a catholic name... But oh well. In Poland, your name day has the importance that your birthday does in the U.S. You do also celebrate the birthday, but your true Big Day is actually your name day. So go with whatever you would think of as a birthday present.

How are Poles treated in Scotland?
How are Poles treated in Scotland?
I am from Poland and I am planning to learn at University of Edinburgh. I've been many times to Scotland (I have relatives in Lochwinnoch) but I never actually lived there. Is there any discrimination among students? How do Scots treat people from Poland?

I dont think you will have any problems ,my father came from Poland---Chorzow during the war serving in the Polish navy aboard the polish destroyer Blyskawicia, and settled in Wales.Neither my father or myself have ever encountered any hostility whatsoever in Wales and i would think Scotland would be the same

I've done this before in Germany - I help out at a hostel for maybe 7-8 hours a day, and in return I get a free room and food there and have the rest of my time to myself. Meininger Hostels have many hostels throughout Germany and Austria. http://www.meininger-hotels.com/ ~ James

of course not, there arent that many Black people there. Its a very safe country and hopefully will stay like that for a long time.
2 :
k buenos pechos!!!!
3 :
I'd guess No. I work with a Polish guy and he keeps talking about my skin colour, cause he said in Poland he pretty much never saw any black people when he lived there.
4 :
No. Poland has a really crappy economy, so it is not a hot destination for African immigrants like the UK, France, Sweden, and such, are. Edit: What;'s with the thumbs down? This is a fact, not my opinion. I dare one of your idiots to email me and tell me how I deserved a thumbs down here.
5 :
I doubt there are many outside of university and maybe military spheres. The black people that are will most likely be African. "do i look half Polish?" lol. You will most likely be considered American.
6 :
My US Army friend was in Poland for NATO military exercise he's black and he said it was the Whitest country he's ever been to even made his stomach hurt and all the other people were more interested in him rather then what was going on.
7 :
Noway, there are black people there but you could probably name them all lol. This makes me want to go there and just dance in the middle of a busy street and see the peoples faces lol but its too far to drive to. And no i could not tell you have polish ancestry by looking at you the Native American and black traits are more visible.
8 :
no,of course not! thats one reason why it's not totally out of control like the USA.

Is it true that top American universities will take a limited no of foreign students even though..?
Is it true that top American universities will take a limited no of foreign students even though..?
No mare space up there :P So is it true that top American universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale etc. will only take a limited number of students ( maybe 3-4 per country) even though there are more ,,qualified'' students in that country? For example I live in Poland. If I apply next year, will only 3 or 4 polish students get accepted despite the fact that there might be 20 or 30 very qualified students? Thank you!

All selective universities operate on a quota system, some are more honest about it than others. For example, Stanford openly admits that they discriminate against Chinese applicants because otherwise their intake would be 100% Chinese-ethnic-origin as the Chinese are cleverer than Americans. I recommend you stay away from East Coast universities if you are from Europe and away from the West Coast if you are Asian. That should increase the odds of your acceptance.
2 :
There is something that you should know about American universities...I was accepted to a West Coast University(UCSD) and they mainly accepted asians because of their higher qualifications and because of the amount of money that they were to pay to the university $$$. Stay in Europe...university system is fine especially in countries such as Germany, UK, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland, and others and you can get you degree validated with any European country now...
3 :
Yes. Harvard only accepts a hand full of international students total. they are not going to take all international students from only one or two countries.

Can you believe the number of lazy students coming here looking for someone to do their homework?
Can you believe the number of lazy students coming here looking for someone to do their homework?
Q: "I have a paper due next Thursday. I need help plz!!!!!! Please explain in excruciating detail all of the events leading up to WWII. Your answer should include, but not be limited to, all of the socioeconomic conditions existing in pre-Hitler Germany as well as the industrial output of hog farmers in pre war Poland" Little punks. Are any of you enablers who let these little couch potatoes get a free ride? Trainboy I agree, I am OK helping someone get over the hump on a toughie but I'm sick of the ones where someone types it here and then makes a cellphone call to their friend to see what's up.

I don't like it, but look at the bright side, I always get 2 points for answering and 10 points for a good answer. I agree with you though...
2 :
I think it's hilarious they will spend that much time typing out the question, and won't type three search words into a search engine or their public library book information system.
3 :
Well ,... if the questions are specific than I think it is great to help. I do admit some of these questions are very annoying. No one should expect an answer that takes more than a paragraph to write.
4 :
Lazy?? I wouldnt call them lazy, but resourceful. Here is a fine place for insightful research. However, the second part of your question leads me to believe that you are an exception. You have a computer....research it yourself!
5 :
No, I'm not surprised that so many people come here looking for help. There are some people who really don't understand something, so they come here looking for help, which is fine. These people will study the answer and try to figure out how to arrive at the answer. They're learning, which is good. And then there are people who does nothing but keep asking people to do their homework for them. That's their rights, but when it comes to test time, they'll be flunking because they don't understand how to solve the problem. They're so used to copying everything that they don't understand how to solve the problem. You can tell when someone is just lazy and when someone really don't understand the problem. Lazy people will ask questions after questions each day, so don't answer their questions.
6 :
You forgot the most important part: "Please cite all resources, websites, books and journals - just in case the teacher checks it out" PS: I thought it was due THIS Thursday???????
7 :
Its questions like that which make ALL homework questions look bad. There are two types: people who actually want help, and people who want you to do it for them. I'm so tired of seeing fellow students ask "Hey, can someone tell me all about the Civil War because I'm too lazy to go type it into a search engine?". No. Go online, look in your book (you know, that big fat thing they gave you at the beginning of the year?) go to the library, SOMETHING. The good kind of question is "Hey, I cant figure out this algebra problem. I can solve it from the second half, but im not sure if I did the first half right?" Those are good. They usually include the question, then explain what they did, and people are nice enough to help with comments like "you need to divide 30x by 2, which will get you x over 9" or something.
8 :
I think it is kind of incentive to call someone a punk or a couch potatoe. I believe everyone who come here to this sight have ask for help, I have ask questions that does not mean I am a couch potatoe just someone looking for help, for an example I have ask for help with math problems, once I see how you work the problem then I learned the process and then can work it myself or help someone else, then I answer questions on this site I know to help others since others have help me, I don't think we are letting them get a free ride just helping one another which is a good thing.
9 :
Oh, what a GREAT question! I've actually began lecturing on the purpose of the site! I do think this site has it's place. I'm always willing to help a kid with a place to start doing research, or perhaps editing something they have already written. I got a kick out of the one a few questions back that wanted a 2 page essay on New York! Somebody (momo) actually gave him one! I double dared him to use it (and flunk) because it was a verbatim transcript from Wikipedia! LOL Sometimes I actually wish I was mean enough to purposefully write a GREAT, but WRONG essay! Teachers aren't stupid. They'll soon figure this out and see the assignments and problems they've assigned up here. And some will get very, very sneaky!
10 :
You hit the nail on the head with that question. I usually answer back "Do your own homework!"
