How can I be an exchange student? ?

How can I be an exchange student? ?
Hello! I am interested in becoming an exchange student from America to one of the countries listed below... -China -France -Poland -Russia It would probably hard to do Russia or China, so my best best is either Poland or France. If you know a government site or school site that has a form or more information, that would be great! I am a freshman in high school. Thanks for for looking as well as your help!! Have a great day!!!

You need to apply to an exchange organization. http://www.yfu.org/ - Youth For Understanding http://www.ayusa.org/ - AYUSA http://www.rotary.org/ - Rotary International http://www.aifs.org/ I had an exchange student from AYUSA, and briefly worked for them (interviewing exchange students to do kind of a status check). Frankly, they are a bit disorganized, but they have a lot more opportunities in Asia. Our exchange student met and befriended exchange students who came using different programs. I must say, I have the most respect for Youth For Understanding. Rotary can be good, but I think (I don't know, I think) that they give preference to kids who's parents are in Rotary. I really don't know much about AIFS. Sometimes, you can get a discount if your parents take a foreign exchange student.

Your school surely has the information you need. Talk to the guidance office or one of the Foreign Language teachers. Here's a site to check into, in case your school does not already have something set up. http://www.csiet.org/mc/page.do?sitePageId=66167&orgId=cosfiet These are the top programs in the country.
