How do you respond to people constantly asking you your height when you're tall? ?
Okay so my aunties exchange student from Poland is 6 foot 5, an people Constantly ask her what her height is. She usually answers "Tall." an then they bug her with "No, really!! What is it!" she an my aunty were talkin' about ways to respond because it's really getting tiring for her.

I share this pain! I am tall and I can't tell you how many people ask if I play basketball - constantly! Now my response is "I HATE BASKETBALL!" God, just because I am tall does not mean I play sports! And it's always stupid ignorant men who ask. Have her just tell them "I don't own a measuring tape."

I'm 6'5" and I just say I'm 6'5" but I'm a guy. On women it may be different.

I was working at macdonalds when I was 17, and this SUPER tall guy came in, he was a friend of my co workers. I was like omg "how tall are you?" He flipped his bottom lip down like a pout and 6'7 was tattooed there. I don't think it hurts, and you can do it really fast. I thought it was super cooL!

Just give them what they want. Tell them the answer and they will probably not have thought up another answer. Maybe you could say "Tall enough to kick your ass" or "Tall enough to see your dandruff: etc.......

"Taller than you." That might shut them up. :) Or just the truth. But they won't always let it be at that. Or say a very short height. Again, this might not always work. Or you can just give them this link. It says her height right up there. :)

Oh, man, I'm sorry. I'm not tall, but my little (ha!) brother's 6' 7". He's been asked if he plays basketball so many times by now... You could always suggest Miss Manners' advice for anyone being asked annoying personal questions: just say "why do you want to know?" or "why would you ask me that?" At the very least, she can get away while they're trying to figure out what to say back.

I guess that WOULD get annoying after a while, but, personally, it doesn't bother me. I'm 5' 7/8", which, apparently is pretty damn tall in this town compared to all the other girls. Whenever I go to friends houses, their mothers always ask me how tall I am and compare the height to mine. My friends, family, and people I meet also do that. It doesn't happen all that often so maybe that's why I'm not annoyed by it. Personally, it makes me feels kind of special that there's something that sticks out about me. Plus, I like being tall! I can tower over some guys in my classes to appear more opposing (though I'm not very opposing to being with lol) and I tower over almost all girls.

She can go with the more powerful approach and say" Taller than you'll ever be!" Or she could tell a large group of people that she is 6 foot 5 inches. Naturally, they will be amazed by her and tell everyone. She wouldn't have to tell anyone else then.

im tall. ppl always ask my height and if i play basketball. the height is ok. but the basketball question is annoying. someone else on here said they had the same problem, i completely understand. and yes, it is mostly small-minded guys that ask the basketball question. as to how i answer, im usually just polite and tell the the truth. they arent really hurting me by asking a question so i just answer and move on. although i did like someone's response of "5 feet 17 inches."

Question about being an exchange student?
Question about being an exchange student?
I am in the USA right now. If I go to Poland for my 10th grade year, will I have to repeat that school year when I come back to america? Thanks in advance :]

That depends on your school system. In my high school, I didn't have to repeat the grade but I did need to have the necessary classes to graduate (Senior English, etc.) so that when I came back, I would be able to pick up my diploma. I doubt you would really have to retake the entire year. Make an appointment with your schools advisors to find out. Good luck!

Gynecologist in Poland?
Gynecologist in Poland?
I am a student in poznan, poland.I am from the western side of the world and therefore accustomed to western medicine if u know what I mean.I may be pregnant along with some other issues and really need to visit a gynecologist; preferably one that speaks english. I have tried a hospital dedicated to to gynecology and they could or would not see me. Does anyone any english speaking gynecologists here? Any information would be helpful. I do not want an abortion.This would be mu husbands' and my first child.

But you realize we do not do abortions in Poland? You should go privately if you need an English speaking doctor. Or why not go to a medical center on campus - they have to help you. best answer i could give you is go to germany, they all speak english and they even got better medicine and doctors its sterilize and not in a 3rd world country.... germany isn't that far away, take a train.

Where can I find information on student travel grants?
I've known a lot of people who've traveled with funding from grants. One of my friends got a grant because of her Polish heritage and she went to Poland to study the language. That's what I would want ideally. Does anyone know about any programs like that? By the way, I'm English, Czech, and German.

Where online can I watch real trials?
I'm law student from Poland and I would like to know how real american trial look like. It would also help me learn some new law vocabulary. Thanks in advance for your answers. Any idea where to look for it on that site, Sam? I'm still asking for a real trials, not just regular TV shows, except they're exactly based on real.

I'm currently a 4th year medical student in Poland and I have a 1-year polish non-schengen visa ending on January 3rd 2008. I will complete my studies and get my degree on March 15th 2008. But I must leave the country on January 3rd. And since the Schengen has expanded I can't just go to Germany and get the free '90 day tourism' stamp. What are my options? Can I go to the UK and come right back? Do I need to go to the US and wait 180 days? I have not traveled to Germany in over 8 months so i'm not sure the 180 day rule applies to me. Maybe I should just keep a low profile for 2 more and take my chances. Also, i am an american citizen. I appreciate any insight.

i was wondering, what could be a really cute and good present i can give to a friend whos an exchange student from Poland. shes really nice and i would like to give her something before she leaves, sooo if anyone is from poland, do you have any ideas? like something hand-made by me, just so she wont forget me and what we've been through the year shes been here(: if youre not from poland its okay! i just need moree ideas, i have some but im not that creative so yeah i kinda need some help (:
