How can I get to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky from Cleveland Hopkins Airport?
Hi :) I'm a student from Poland. I signed up for work & travel program and I'm going to work in Cedar Point this summer. But there's one problem. It will be my first time in the USA and I have no idea how to get to Sandusky from Cleveland Airport. I've read about greyhound buses and amtrak but I don't know how to get to their stations. Could someone explain me what should I do step by step after getting off a plane ? And one more thing. Could you recommend me a cheap hotel near the airport. I have to spend one night in Cleveland because I'll arrive very late ;) I would be very grateful ;) Thank you in advance :)

When you fly into Cleveland Hopkins, you will need to get to the Greyhound station and take a bus to Sandusky. When you get to Sandusky, you will need to get a taxi to get to Cedar Point (unless you want to walk quite a distance along a busy route, I would get a taxi). As for hotels, I would stick to the chain hotels (Hampton Inn, Courtyard, Hilton Garden Inn, Red Roof, La Quinta, etc.).

The LaQuinta Inn Airport on West 150th is reasonably priced and of good quality. Most airport inns will pick you up and return you to the airport for free. You should tip the driver a couple dollars. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g50207-d101731-Reviews-La_Quinta_Inn_Cleveland_Airport-Cleveland_Ohio.html The LaQuinta has the added advantage of being across the street from a Cleveland RTA rail rapid transit station. If you got up early the next morning, you could buy an RTA day pass for $5 and explore downtown before returning to the LaQuinta (assuming the hotel will hold your bags for you). Then you could take the hotel's shuttle back to the airport. (If the West Side Market is open, take the rapid to the West 25th St. station and go across the street for breakfast or lunch either at a food stall in the cafe or at the West Side Market Cafe; Maha's falafel in the market is a favorite of many.) You should call Cedar Point's personnel department and ask what shuttles they recommend. There are shuttle services between the airport and Cedar Point which would be cheaper and more convenient than using Greyhound. Greyhound doesn't go directly to Cedar Point, so you would have to take a cab from Sandusky to Cedar Point, unless you can make other arrangements. http://clevelandtocedarpoint.com/ http://cabbiebill.com/CedarPointShuttle.aspx BOL!
