Hi, I'm a student from Poland and want to get a summer job for 2 months in Germany. I learn German but I'm not a good speaker. So, I want to improve my skills. Do you know some organization for students which could help me to find job? Please give me your advice. :)

I've done this before in Germany - I help out at a hostel for maybe 7-8 hours a day, and in return I get a free room and food there and have the rest of my time to myself. Meininger Hostels have many hostels throughout Germany and Austria. http://www.meininger-hotels.com/ ~ James

of course not, there arent that many Black people there. Its a very safe country and hopefully will stay like that for a long time.

k buenos pechos!!!!

I'd guess No. I work with a Polish guy and he keeps talking about my skin colour, cause he said in Poland he pretty much never saw any black people when he lived there.
4 :
No. Poland has a really crappy economy, so it is not a hot destination for African immigrants like the UK, France, Sweden, and such, are. Edit: What;'s with the thumbs down? This is a fact, not my opinion. I dare one of your idiots to email me and tell me how I deserved a thumbs down here.
5 :
I doubt there are many outside of university and maybe military spheres. The black people that are will most likely be African. "do i look half Polish?" lol. You will most likely be considered American.
6 :
My US Army friend was in Poland for NATO military exercise he's black and he said it was the Whitest country he's ever been to even made his stomach hurt and all the other people were more interested in him rather then what was going on.
7 :
Noway, there are black people there but you could probably name them all lol. This makes me want to go there and just dance in the middle of a busy street and see the peoples faces lol but its too far to drive to. And no i could not tell you have polish ancestry by looking at you the Native American and black traits are more visible.
8 :
no,of course not! thats one reason why it's not totally out of control like the USA.

Is it true that top American universities will take a limited no of foreign students even though..?
Is it true that top American universities will take a limited no of foreign students even though..?
No mare space up there :P So is it true that top American universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale etc. will only take a limited number of students ( maybe 3-4 per country) even though there are more ,,qualified'' students in that country? For example I live in Poland. If I apply next year, will only 3 or 4 polish students get accepted despite the fact that there might be 20 or 30 very qualified students? Thank you!

All selective universities operate on a quota system, some are more honest about it than others. For example, Stanford openly admits that they discriminate against Chinese applicants because otherwise their intake would be 100% Chinese-ethnic-origin as the Chinese are cleverer than Americans. I recommend you stay away from East Coast universities if you are from Europe and away from the West Coast if you are Asian. That should increase the odds of your acceptance.

There is something that you should know about American universities...I was accepted to a West Coast University(UCSD) and they mainly accepted asians because of their higher qualifications and because of the amount of money that they were to pay to the university $$$. Stay in Europe...university system is fine especially in countries such as Germany, UK, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland, and others and you can get you degree validated with any European country now...

Yes. Harvard only accepts a hand full of international students total. they are not going to take all international students from only one or two countries.

Can you believe the number of lazy students coming here looking for someone to do their homework?
Can you believe the number of lazy students coming here looking for someone to do their homework?
Q: "I have a paper due next Thursday. I need help plz!!!!!! Please explain in excruciating detail all of the events leading up to WWII. Your answer should include, but not be limited to, all of the socioeconomic conditions existing in pre-Hitler Germany as well as the industrial output of hog farmers in pre war Poland" Little punks. Are any of you enablers who let these little couch potatoes get a free ride? Trainboy I agree, I am OK helping someone get over the hump on a toughie but I'm sick of the ones where someone types it here and then makes a cellphone call to their friend to see what's up.

I don't like it, but look at the bright side, I always get 2 points for answering and 10 points for a good answer. I agree with you though...
2 :
I think it's hilarious they will spend that much time typing out the question, and won't type three search words into a search engine or their public library book information system.
3 :
Well ,... if the questions are specific than I think it is great to help. I do admit some of these questions are very annoying. No one should expect an answer that takes more than a paragraph to write.
4 :
Lazy?? I wouldnt call them lazy, but resourceful. Here is a fine place for insightful research. However, the second part of your question leads me to believe that you are an exception. You have a computer....research it yourself!
5 :
No, I'm not surprised that so many people come here looking for help. There are some people who really don't understand something, so they come here looking for help, which is fine. These people will study the answer and try to figure out how to arrive at the answer. They're learning, which is good. And then there are people who does nothing but keep asking people to do their homework for them. That's their rights, but when it comes to test time, they'll be flunking because they don't understand how to solve the problem. They're so used to copying everything that they don't understand how to solve the problem. You can tell when someone is just lazy and when someone really don't understand the problem. Lazy people will ask questions after questions each day, so don't answer their questions.
6 :
You forgot the most important part: "Please cite all resources, websites, books and journals - just in case the teacher checks it out" PS: I thought it was due THIS Thursday???????
7 :
Its questions like that which make ALL homework questions look bad. There are two types: people who actually want help, and people who want you to do it for them. I'm so tired of seeing fellow students ask "Hey, can someone tell me all about the Civil War because I'm too lazy to go type it into a search engine?". No. Go online, look in your book (you know, that big fat thing they gave you at the beginning of the year?) go to the library, SOMETHING. The good kind of question is "Hey, I cant figure out this algebra problem. I can solve it from the second half, but im not sure if I did the first half right?" Those are good. They usually include the question, then explain what they did, and people are nice enough to help with comments like "you need to divide 30x by 2, which will get you x over 9" or something.

I think it is kind of incentive to call someone a punk or a couch potatoe. I believe everyone who come here to this sight have ask for help, I have ask questions that does not mean I am a couch potatoe just someone looking for help, for an example I have ask for help with math problems, once I see how you work the problem then I learned the process and then can work it myself or help someone else, then I answer questions on this site I know to help others since others have help me, I don't think we are letting them get a free ride just helping one another which is a good thing.
9 :
Oh, what a GREAT question! I've actually began lecturing on the purpose of the site! I do think this site has it's place. I'm always willing to help a kid with a place to start doing research, or perhaps editing something they have already written. I got a kick out of the one a few questions back that wanted a 2 page essay on New York! Somebody (momo) actually gave him one! I double dared him to use it (and flunk) because it was a verbatim transcript from Wikipedia! LOL Sometimes I actually wish I was mean enough to purposefully write a GREAT, but WRONG essay! Teachers aren't stupid. They'll soon figure this out and see the assignments and problems they've assigned up here. And some will get very, very sneaky!

You hit the nail on the head with that question. I usually answer back "Do your own homework!"
