Polish language programs in Poland for high school students over the summer?

Polish language programs in Poland for high school students over the summer?
The Jagellonski University in Krakow offers a fantastic summer program for students, but it's for college students. I'm in high school and I am very much interested in a language learning program for the Polish language, most preferably in Krakow. Does anyone know of any camps or summer programs in Poland like this? Please only answer if you know.

Will I be fine in Poland as a black International student from African?

Will I be fine in Poland as a black International student from African?
I am a Nigerian international student currently studying in Cyprus and will be taking a transfer to Warsaw Poland to finish up my undergraduate degree this October. I am a little worried about the rumor about racism in Poland. In Cyprus where I currently study, we have a lot of blacks and we do just fine. I feel very at home. Can I be like that in Poland? Please can someone give me more information, I am yet to pay the tuition fee. If I pay the tuition fee, then that means am going and if I don't the case will be the reverse. Can someone tell me what likely possible things I might face from the Poles who don't like blacks and in Public places. Will I be able to move around, drive around besides studies? Well you are very correct, I read the story from the internet about the guy who infected many Polish women with AIDS. Well the dude is from Cameroon and I am from Nigeria. We Nigerians are proud of ourselves and I am proud to be one. I am not Cameroonian. There is no way I will have sex with a girl without using condoms. AIDS is not written on any one's face. Lets just say people are just wicked. -------------------------------------------------------- Yes Sarah, I am a Christian, I believe am going to be fine in Poland. You know am just worried about something I have not experienced before. Am just imagining how people will look at me and accept me.

depends on ppl you meet! it's very true what you said, lots of racism there, especially in low cost areas in warsaw. i saw a program on tv lately about students from africa in warsaw... geez, you wouldn't like that! but if you try and get a room in a dorm, it can be safer for you, this is what i would guess... not fun man!!

Don't listen to stupid rumors. There is no racism in Poland.

There is as much racism in Poland as in any other country. Depends on the people you meet - just like everywhere. Sometimes, somebody can just have a bad day and be mean to you - which doesn't necessarily mean that they are racist. You'll be just fine in Warsaw. That's a big metropolitan city with people from all over the World. Once you get there ask your school for help when it comes to room and board. Good luck and have fun. Poland is great!

Drive around - no. You are an African and therefore have no rights to a proper driver's license. Trust me, I know because I live in the EU, come from South Africa and am not allowed to drive with my license. There are a few black people in Warsaw, but not that many. You will be a minority, so deal with it. Most young people are fine, but the older ones are suspicious of anything non-Polish;)

Well there are racists everywhere actually. But Poland has been through a lot and nothing should happen to you. Be free to go anywhere you want to go. Its not dangerous over there.

You'll be fine as long as you use the same common sense you would use in any big city that you are not familiar with. I'm not sure about the driving thing unless you plan on renting a car the entire time you are there. I don't know what their licensing laws are. Great city. The only weird thing I can think of is my buddies telling me about a black poet/casanova type who was really popular with the ladies a few years ago. I think he was from Africa as well. Story was something about him befriending many women (emotionally and sexually) and then later leaving the country because he had AIDS (and knew he had it). I'm not sure if this really affected Polish/Black relations though.

Oh my gosh, all the girls in poland are all over africans, lol if you go you will get lots of girls becuase they are sick of white guys. and the girls are reallly pretty

I think that your story is very interesting because you don't see very many Africans in Germany or Poland. You will be treated like any other person. If you are a Christian and having trouble with racism(which you might not) contact me and I will help you. my whole family is from Poland, and they own a castle up in Elim.

If you are only going to visit, then visit visa it is;)
2 :
To settle in Poland for good you'd have to marry her and apply for a temporary stay permit. Once you have lived here on that basis for 2 years and have been married to her for 3, you can apply for settlement permit. More about visas and permits: http://www.udsc.gov.pl/GOOD,TO,KNOW,1136.html#1983

why would you want to live in poland? russia has higher standard of living.

Poland is a great place to live. You cant move to Russia because it is a very dangarous place to live if you are from another country. You can get beaten or killed in Russia by the neo-Nazis if you are not Russian.

Do you think he's right, that id be able to get a job teaching english without speaking the native language? And also, if i were to get a job there, do you think itd be worth it, or is the polish currency much lower that US, where i wouldnt make too much when i turn it into US money?

Well, as for economics, Poland is an echelon lower than first rate countries (France, America, Italy, Japan etc.) Yet, it is on the highest level of developing from a socialist economy. The economics and financial situation there will be a bit crappier than that of the US, but nothing that is a total game changer. Many Poles know english on survival level. Yet, knowing Polish would be a huge benefit. Would you survive in Poland without Polish, as a teacher? Depends on where you teach, Warshawa (Warsaw) would be easier than, per se, Lublin, a working class town. Will your job be a hell of a lot easier with Polish? Yes. I hope I helped
